Mr. Korosuo (M.Sc.) is specialized in International Business and Education. After his pedagogical studies at the University of Helsinki and working as a lecturer at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and Helsinki Business College, he has dedicated to promote Finnish Education internationally. Among other projects, he has spent several months in Colombia in 2016 and 2017, consulting the local Ministry of Education. Since 2016 he has worked as a CEO of VisitEDUfinn and Customer Relationship Manager of Haaga-Helia.

Mr. Singh (undergraduate) has a broad experience in customer service. While working in VisitEDUfinn he is also studying Business Administration in Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. A consultant and a social entrepreneur behind EUMex-Connect a strategic hub for Latin American and European Institutions with focus in Education, Research & Innovation. Ms. Ahvenjärvi (M.A.) has worked in the field of educational consultancy since 2011, specializing in international education services. A graduate from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Emilia´s work has focused mainly on the Spanish speaking countries in Latin America. She has designed and directed several professional programs of immersion in the Finnish education system for international groups, as well as other projects focusing on education system development.  Emilia also holds the pedagogical qualification of secondary school teacher in Finland. At VisitEDUfinn, Emilia is in charge of the annual Spanish speaking conference STEP, and for the design and coordination of programs tailored to the needs of clients.

Ms. Roos (teacher of early years, PhD) has over 10 years of experience as a teacher and a leader in Finnish child care centers. For the past 10 years she worked as a teacher in vocational collage for practical nurses majoring in early childhood education. Now Roos works as a lecturer and consult through her own company (www.piiaroos.fi).  In addition, she is a partner in VisitEDUfinn Ltd. Her special interests are children's perspective and participation. Her doctoral thesis focuses on children's narration and the everyday life in Finnish child care centers.


David Mauffret

Mr. Mauffret (M.A.) has a wide experience in teaching languages in Finland, Ecuador and New Zealand. The last years he has been working in the Teacher Training unit in Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, being responsible of the multicultural groups. He has been training teachers also in different countries, such as Colombia and South Africa.

Mr. Pokki is the chairman of the board of VisitEDUfinn Ltd. He has made a long career as an education consultant, having his own company since 1995. He is kindergarten teacher and has also worked as a head of public kindergarten in 90´s. Simo was in local politics for 20 years, working most of the time as chairman of the board of education in one of the biggest cities in Finland, city of Vantaa. He knows well Finnish education system and has close networks in Finland. He established VisitEDUfinn Ltd. 2015 with four partners. He has been also popular speaker and trainer during more than two decades.


EXPERTS

Visiting Finnish schools and being able to talk to Finnish colleagues is very important part of understanding the characteristics of Finnish education. However, it is equally important that there is an education professional accompanying during the visit, who can clarify doubts and give detailed background information when needed. In addition to our team members, the following education experts are frequently involved in our visit programs, study tours and events, normally as expert lecturers but sometimes hosting a group as well.

EEVA PENTTILÄ 

Ms. Penttilä has a long and varied career in education both in Finland and on the international level. After working as a teacher and principal, she was elected president of ESHA – The European School Heads´ Association with 17000 members. After the presidency, the city of Helsinki asked her to use her expertise for the benefit of its schools as the first Head of International Relations in the Education Department. 

Leena Heinilä

Ms. Heinilä, (M.A.) VisitEDUfinn's Pedagogical Expert, is extremely experienced teacher who has worked not only in Finnish schools but outside Finland as well. She is also an education advisor, teacher educator, administrator, researcher with interest on students self-efficacy and welfare.


 SARI KONTRA 

Ms. Kontra is an elementary school teacher who would rather take her students outdoors to learn than stay and teach in a traditional classroom environment. She believes that by incorporating physical activity and new forms of functionality and devices into teaching, we can tackle many of today’s challenges in the field of education. She currently works at the International School of Vantaa close to Helsinki, Finland. 

JANNIINA VLASOV 

Ms. Vlasov is a former teacher of early years, and currently finnishing her Ph.D focusing on cross-cultural comparisons. Her special interest is in the development of early childhood education and its quality, which combines both her practical knowledge from the field as well as academic research. Janniina has long experience from the international education field, and spreading the word of joy about Finnish early learning is her passion. 

Suvi Krista Westling  

Ms. Westling is an educational psychologist and expert in the field with both grass root teaching experience from school and teacher education as well as research from these environments.  She has a broad and holistic view of education and a deep understanding of human mind and learning. She has graduated from and later taught new students in an innovative program of educational psychology at the University of Helsinki. Her teaching has included lecturing, supervising pre-service-teachers' practice, and facilitating group processes and process-oriented group studies. In her research she studies the quality of regulation of students’ learning and activity both, at school and at teacher education. She has worked as an expert in educational program design at an academic level as well as in the world of international organizations.
